E-invoicing / How to choose an ASP
How to choose an accredited e-invoicing provider
Eight checks, built on the Ministry of Finance's own selection checklist. Most of the decision is about your ERP and the contract, not the brand.
- Know your dates
Revenue of AED 50m or more: appoint by 30 October 2026. Below: by 31 March 2027. Full timeline.
- Start from your ERP
If your accounting or ERP vendor is accredited, that may be the shortest path. If not, shortlist providers with a ready connector for your system, not a custom project.
- Verify accreditation
Match the legal name and accreditation number to the Ministry register. Pre-approval is no longer enough.
- Ask who does the work
Is the platform the provider's own, or resold? Is support in-house or sub-contracted? The Ministry flags both.
- Ask where data lives
In the UAE or abroad, which certifications (for example ISO 27001), and what happens to your data if you leave.
- Get the SLA in writing
Support response times and uptime commitments. You remain responsible for reporting system failures on time.
- Price the whole thing
Setup, subscription, per-invoice charges above the plan, connectors, and the 100 free e-invoices a year every accredited provider commits to. Ask for one written total.
- Test with real invoices
Before go-live, run your own invoices through validation. PintLint checks PINT AE invoices free, so you can see what your data gets wrong before your ASP rejects it.
Questions to send every shortlisted provider
- What is your legal entity name and MoF accreditation number?
- Do you have a ready connector for our ERP or accounting system? Who builds and maintains it?
- Where is invoice data stored and processed? Which certifications do you hold?
- What are your support hours, response times and uptime commitment?
- What is the total first-year cost, and the cost per e-invoice above the plan? Are the 100 free e-invoices a year in the contract?
- How do we export our data and leave if we need to?
How we make money. Some provider links may become referral links. If you buy through one, we may be paid by the provider. It never changes the order of this list or what we say. Details.
Questions
What does the Ministry say to check when choosing an ASP?
Its 'Considerations for selecting an Accredited Service Provider' covers experience and Peppol track record, geographic reach, product ownership and who provides support, ERP integration, where data is stored, certifications and security, support response times and uptime SLAs, pricing model and hidden fees, and scalability.
How do I check a provider is really accredited?
Find its company name and accreditation number on the Ministry of Finance register. Since 1 October 2026 only accredited providers may provide e-invoicing services.
Can I change ASP later?
The decisions do not lock you in, but switching means new integration work and onboarding. Ask about data export and exit terms before signing.
How long does onboarding take?
It depends on your systems. The FTA meeting on 29 September 2026 urged businesses to select an ASP, sign, and start onboarding through EmaraTax well before the deadline.
